Day By Day Happenings
Day 01
Arrive in San Jose, Costa Rica
Highlights:
- OBT Hosts will greet you at the airport and transport you to our hotel
- Explore the Vibrant Historic City of San Jose
- Check into our Hotel for the Night: Cariari San Jose
- Poolside hangout or Digital Nomad time
- Social hour poolside to meet your fellow adventurers and hosts. We’re all about quirky ice-breakers to get everyone laughing and connecting.
- Dinner Together at a hot local spot
- Night cap dessert city tour – a little dancing
- San Jose Cool Fact? San José, is Costa Rica’s capital and largest city and the main city of San José province. It lies about 1,190 meters (3,900 feet ) above sea level on the Meseta Central (central plateau), surrounded by mountains with prominent volcanoes.
Day 02
Beaches, Rainforest Exploring, and Mangrove Kayaking
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Arrive in the Rainforest
- Get settled into the Botanika Resort and begin exploring the property and pools.
- Lunch at the Driza Bar and Grill: Fresh local food and exotic cocktails.
- Afternoon Mangrove Kaykaying we will paddle through the exotic and mysterious landscape of a river mangrove estuary. The serene passages of the river bring you silently alongside many beautiful aquatic birds: roseate spoonbills, boat-billed herons, and white ibis. Jesus Christ (Basilisk) lizards dart across the surface of water on webbed hind-feet. Howler and white-faced monkeys are known to frequent the mangroves.
- Dinner at Tierra a la Mesa which supports local farms and serves land-to-table(sea) dishes
- Poolside party after dinner
Day 03
Snorkeling the Golfo Dulce by Boat
Highlights:
- Early AM Rainforest Coffee walk (or run)
- Snorkeling the Golfo Dulce by Boat With eighty-degree waters, snorkeling in the Golfo Dulce is as inviting as it is fascinating. On this multi-dive trip, you will visit a variety of marine habitats including brain-coral reefs and rock pinnacles. Colorful reef fish like parrot, angel, and butterfly fish abound, as do Moorish Idols, Sergeant Majors, and many others. There are Moray eels, rays, octopi, and even the occasional whale shark or sting ray.

Day 04
Hiking and RAINFOREST Canopy ZIP LINING
Highlights:
- Early risers Howler Monkey Coffee walk.
- Time to hang by the pool, sleep in, or work out before lunch.
- Miramar Canopy Zip-line in the rainforest. This 17-acre tract of virgin forest is called Miramar or “ocean view” referring to its commanding view of the Golfo Dulce and the surrounding rainforest. The platforms are strung along nearly a mile of rainforest canopy reaching heights of 138ft.
- Jungle Night Walk Hunt or be hunted is the nighttime order of the rainforest, when many animals are active. We will walk to a fresh-water lagoon near the resort that yields treasures like red-eyed tree frogs and other amphibians, exotic insects, night birds, caimans, snakes, and other reptiles.
Day 05
Beach Club and Chocolate in a Rainforest
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Group Breakfast Poolside.
- Chocolate Farm Rainforest Tour: One of Costa Rica’s most important native trees… chocolate! Plentiful wildlife including toucans and other colorful fruit-eating birds, squirrels and white-face monkeys can be seen on this tour of a traditional cocoa plantation. Tasting samples YEA!
- Afternoon beach party at Playa Preciosa Beach (“Precious Beach”). This is a secluded, unspoiled beach that is perfect for bodysurfing, swimming, and sunning as you enjoy the beautiful views. We will grab something fresh to drink at the beach juice bar.
Day 06
Let’s Catch Some waves! Surf Matapalo
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Matapalo Surfing: we escape civilization and catch some waves! It is an adventure just to get there since it is only accessible by a rustic dirt road or by boat. Here, you will not find restaurants, bars, or shops to distract you but, instead, you will discover world-class surfing.
- Rainforest Hike: waterfall and wildlife hike 4+miles
- Group dinner
- After Dinner games poolside.
Day 07
Depart for San Jose, Costa Rica, and a Private tour of Coffee Plantation!
Highlights:
- Breakfast at hotel as we say goodbye to paradise!
- Check out of the hotel & take a morning flight back to SJO
- Coffee Plantation Tour in the mountains of San Jose
- Check into the Hotel Cariari San Jose, Costa Rica
- Goodbye dinner together as new friends. Will be one to remember!
DAY 08
Breakfast at the hotel followed by Airport Drop Off.
